From August 14th through the 19th, I headed down to Salt Lake to see my Grandma, who was visiting from Washington State.
Some highlights of the trip included:
- Going to a German bakery and getting some well missed goodies!!! From this little bakery, I got curry ketchup, Fred Ferkles, Knödel, Hackbraten mix, and Mohn Kuchen.
- Going to do a session in the Salt Lake Temple for the first time. This was amazing! When I was 3 or 4 years old, I saw the Salt Lake Temple for the first time. I use to tell people that one day I was going to get married in a castle. When I saw the Salt Lake Temple for the first time, I looked up and said, "A Castle." It was like a dream going in that Temple for the first time. It really is amazing.
- Going to eat lunch at the Lion House Pantry
- Listening to musical fountains
- And just spending time with my Grandma
To end the trip, I headed back to Rexburg and made a stop to spend the night at my cousin Sherrie's place. It was fun seeing a couple cousins and meeting their spouses and kids for the first time.
On August 24th, Glenn had a mud volleyball tournament. I just went as support--The following weekend was labor day weekend. Glenn and I decided to make a trip to his brother's ranch a couple hours from Rexburg.I got to see buffalo, drive a six-wheeler for the first time, and ride a horse. Of course, we also had fun spending time with Glenn's brother, and his wife, and kids.
And now, the summer has come to an end. I look forward to what this semester will bring!
