I was able to spend Thanksgiving Break in Montana with Glenn's family. It was a fun break from being in Rexburg and luckily for me. . . there was no snow!!!
I admit Thanksgiving Day was difficult for me at some points. I was homesick for some of the day and did shed some tears; however, Friday made up for that, and I had a fun time going Christmas Tree hunting for the first time in my life.
Growing up, we never had a real tree. It was a lot of fun to hike a little bit and find a tree and the smell of pine is amazing, but this experience made me appreciate and love my family's fake tree. I am not saying I am going to stick with a fake tree for the rest of my life because Glenn has already informed me that we are never going to own one. But there is something about my family's fake tree that makes Christmas special.
One fond memory is always putting up the Christmas tree and then decorating it. It was always exciting to pull the Christmas tree box out of the attic and put it together piece by piece.
Despite that, I did enjoy my first time tree hunting and would gladly do it again--that is without snow.
