5 Months Out!

Dear Johnathan,
It's on his head to get him to look up at the camera.
Five months has passed since we began our new adventure with you. You are a spunk, and we love it. Your personality has really broken through this month. We love how playful you are but not how crabby you can get.

Some things have not changed. You still love bath time more than anything. You still sleep like a champ at night, but nap time is the real struggle.

A couple weeks ago we started giving you a little bit of solid food. We had some pear sauce we canned a while back, and you sure love it. Last night we had mashed sweet potatoes for dinner, and we gave you a some before we put the butter and milk in the rest for us. You seemed to like that a lot along we gnawing on a piece of ham.

You grab everything that is in arm reach. You also like to pull the tray off your bumbo chair and hold it. You don't inch worm your way around like you did a month ago. The only time you do that is in your crib. That is just fine. We don't need you being mobile outside your crib yet. You do get frustrated when something is not in arms reach though.

You still won't smile for the camera. I try to make faces to make you smile, so sometimes I catch a smile. However, you are one serious baby when your picture gets taken.

You love to grab our faces. It is a good thing neither one of us wears glasses. You love to go outside, but I am sad it is getting too cold to play out there. However, you seem to have warmed up to your car seat and stroller more. We still prefer to just put you in the wearable carrier most of the time.

I can't wait to see what this next month brings. This time next month is will be Christmas Eve. I am excited for you to spend your first Christmas in the great state of Texas and for you to meet your Grandma and Grandpa Anderson.

Keep on laughing and smiling.

Love,
Mom
