9 in. . . 9 out!

Johnathan,
You are officially 9 months out after spending 9 months in! You crack us up. Your new favorite thing to do is clap. You clap for everything. The nurse the other day asked me some questions about different milestones. She asked me if you play peek a boo. I had to laugh because you are not amused. We have played peek a book with you since you were born just for fun. You did and still do give us a look like we are super weird. Yep, that is not your kind of game.

At your 9 month check up you weigh 18 lbs and 27.75 inches tall. You went from being 7% in weight to 24%. We finally graduated from 0-3 month pants!!!
You love, love, love food. Your favorite is oatmeal, but you also love different types of melon. You are also crazy about crackers. You are usually all smiles, but you now have 1 tooth and another one coming soon. Teething is no fun. It makes for long days sometimes. You do still sleep like a champ at night though.
You love getting into everything and understand the word 'no' pretty well. You seem to get yourself stuck in weird places too. You love to pull yourself up on everything. We have no doubt you will be walking or running by your first birthday.

You love being outside, and you just laugh and laugh when you are on the swings. I think you love being outside so much because you like the breeze in your face. You discovered grass for the first time and are really unsure about it.

You still love bath time. You get so excited. You love the song 'If Your Happy and You Know it.' Any time you are upset and we sing that song, you stop crying immediately. You also love books. Some times you will crawl over to us and just want to sit and look at a book.

If you could sing the song "I'm so glad when daddy comes home," I am sure you would be every day. You get so excited when Dad comes home everyday. Your face just lights up. Believe me, some days I am so excited for him to come home too. . . just so I can hand you off.
You do prefer your mommy though on many things. Most of the time, you prefer to cuddle up to me and not dad. I don't get this because I am not the affectionate one.

You are a people person though. You love when new people are around. You have no shyness in you. You will just crawl right over to people.

Though, we need to work on your high pitch squeals.

 Love,
Mom
