Closing a Chapter

I remember going to Rexburg for the first time. It was September of 2008. I was starting my first semester of college. I was excited for this new chapter of my life. I love everything about Rexburg except for the winters. I hate winters. Snow and cold are not my friends. I graduated April 2014. I remember counting the days to finally leave Rexburg. Glenn, however, still had a couple years left. Finally, we have ventured away from the 'Burg. Just in time for winter too!
Though, we were getting anxious and excited for the day we would leave, it was a bittersweet feeling. Rexburg had actually become a home we love. I have so many memories from that small little town. I thought I would highlight a few things we will miss. I know there are more places to list than what I am going to, but we just want to share our top!

  • BYU-Idaho. Why would we not include this in the list. This is where we both went to college and enjoyed many activities on campus. I remember always thinking I was going to attend BYU in Provo, UT. The Lord had other plans for me. I am proud to have completed my degree at such a place.

  •  Outdoor Everything. I wish we took more advantage of what was at our fingertips. I can't tell you the number of failed trips to Yellowstone we tried to take. However, we made it one last time before heading down to Texas.
  • Big Judd's. We had to go to Big Judd's one last time. Since it was the last, we decided to order the big 1 lbs burger and fries and share it. :-)

  • Smith and Porter Park. I know we will have other parks where we go, but I sure love these two parks. We will miss them.

  • World's Famous Corn dogs food truck. These are some of the best corn dogs I have ever had.

  • Our many homes. Before Glenn and I got married, we each lived in various single student housing. I loved all the ones I lived in. When we got married, we had a total of 3 homes. We will miss various memories from each one.

  •   Fun random stores throughout town. We will miss how everything was within walking distance. I would walk every where. Plus, you get to explore a bit more when you do.

  • The Plasma Center. Glenn wanted me to include this one. He did spend many hours in this place. Any time we were in a pickle for some extra cash, he was here.

  • Great Harvest. I love having this around the corner from my home. Stopping in to grab a free slice of yummy bread is always a highlight of our walks :-)

  •  Broulims. This is a locally owned grocery store. I will miss the great walking distance to the store and also the yummy homemade tortillas they sold.
  • The Rexburg Temple. No explanation.
  • Friends and Glenn's Family. I could list so many other things I will miss. I wish I was able to see and get pictures with all of our friends before we left. However, we did get to say goodbye to some. Even if you are not pictured, know we will miss you and hope to keep in touch as the years past.
Until next time Rexburg. Maybe one day I will return to take one of my own children to school at BYU-Idaho.

We left Rexburg with great memories and friends we hope to keep in touch with as the years go by. We also made a stop in Utah to see some grandparents before heading even further south. We don't know when and if we will see Grandpa Mackay, Grandpa Anderson, and Grandma Anderson again. We sure hope we can, but we are glad to get these memories for Johnathan captured.

Now we can open this new chapter in Texas. Excited to see what is to come :-)
