Folklore and Bird's Milk

Take a peek at our little Russia visit. We decided this month to not do the full on traditional meal in Russia. Instead, we just enjoyed a little dessert and learning about the culture.

Take a little peek at some of the things we learned about this country: http://www.livescience.com/44154-russian-culture.html

We also spent a little time learning of the ever so famous Baba Yaga. She is a fearsome witch that many stories are based. Next time you want to give your child a little scare, read to them about this witch ;-) http://www.oldrussia.net/baba.html

The highlight of our evening was of course the Ptichye Moloko or known as Bird's Milk. This is a dessert found in Russia, and we will be making this again for sure. It has such a cream delectable base with a yummy chocolate layer.

Here is the recipe: http://natashaskitchen.com/2011/11/08/veras-ptichye-moloko-recipe-birds-milk/

You seriously need to take a night out to Russia and try it!
