Culture night this month was a success! Especially since I did not have to lift a finger for it. We drew Mexico from our bowl of countries. Glenn was more than happy and willing to take charge since he served a mission for our church in Mexico. It was a fun evening, and Glenn made dinner completely from scratch.
On our menu was
Tacos Al Pastor-- a dish developed in Central Mexico, shawarma spit-grilled meat brought by the Lebanese immigrants to Mexico.
We did not make it on a spit, but it was delicious never the less. This is a dish Glenn often talks about from his mission.
We also had it served with some freshly made pico de gallo, rice, and corn tortillas.
Jamaica--Glenn made this drink from scratch, and it was a bit too bitter for my taste. Apparently that is how it is suppose to be. It is equivalent to Hibiscus tea.
Flan--I think this was Glenn's greatest accomplishment from this meal. He was so nervous for it not to turn out. Way to go for making it completely from scratch. It was good.
Overall, it was a great evening. Glenn mostly talked about the food in Mexico. It was fun to see his excitement for it all.
We drew the next country, and we are headed to Jordan for next month!
