Well, I have not dived off the deep end and I am still kicking it here in Rexburg, Idaho. Sorry for the long break of no post, but things have been super busy since I last wrote.
I spent the Christmas break with my whole family. . . It was the first time we were all together since before I left on my mission. It was super fun to be with everyone. It was a full house with 10 Adults and 6 nephews and nieces!
Sadly, the time had to end, but I look forward to when we can all be together again!
I headed back up here to Rexburg to start once again another semester!! This semester has been a good one. I am taking 5 classes and that includes a Grammar Usage class (diagramming sentences), German Literature class, Journalism-Reporting, 2nd half of Doctrine and Covenants, and finally a Technology for Pro.Writers (focus on website design and brochures). So far I am enjoying the classes and having a great time.
The highlight I would say was celebrating my roommate's, Melissa, 20th birthday!!! So Melissa last semester just finished reading all the Harry Potter books for the first time and so since she finished we had a plan that this semester we would watch all the movies. To kick off the first movie we celebrated her birthday Harry Potter style!!
I surprised Melissa by making her this cake. . . if you have seen the first Harry Potter you would be familiar with it because it was the same cake that Hagrid gave Harry Potter for his 12th birthday. . . same spelling and all!
Of course I let her borrow my tie and scarf, so she could look the part for her birthday!!!!
One joy I had in doing this for her was making these cauldron cakes! They were a hit! I will have to share the recipe sometime!
And of course what would be a Harry Potter party without some magic!! We put trick candles on her cake and well. . . it took awhile until they were fully blown out!!!
To end our awesome party we watched the first Harry Potter and they each got a share of some jelly beans.
I would say we each got some gross ones. . .
