Every Tuesday I bake; I do bake on other days as well, but Tuesday are set aside so I can just relax and do what I love to do with no stress.
Lately, I have been on a kick with taken recipes that we all know and love, but putting a little twist on them. "Experimenting." So far my experiments have turned out amazing!
I decided that maybe it is time to start sharing my Tuesday Treat.
Today I took my Sister-in-law's Snicker Doodle Recipe:
Here is the original Recipe (then I will show you what I actually did)
1 cup Shortening
1 1/2 cups Sugar
2 Eggs
2 3/4 cups Flour
2 Teaspoons Cream of Tartar
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
Mix all ingredients together
Roll into balls and then in the Sugar and Cinnamon Mixture (2 Tablespoons Sugar, 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon) Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes
Alright, that looks really good, but let me show you how I Snicker when I Doodle:
1 cup Butter
1 1/2 cups Sugar
2 Eggs
1 3/4 cups Wheat Flour
1 cup White Flour
2 Teaspoons Cream of Tartar
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 1/2 Teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice
(now take about a 1/4 cup of Strawberry Cream Cheese and mix it with a 1/4 cup Nutella)
Cream together Butter and Sugar and beat in Egg. Add Cream of Tartar, Salt, Baking Soda, Pumpkin Pie Spice and the Cream Cheese Mixture. Gradually Add the Wheat and White Flour.
Roll into balls and then in the Sugar and Cinnamon Mixture (2 Tablespoons Sugar, 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon)
Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 mintues
ENJOY!!
