Weekend of Wonders

Have you ever thought or considered how wonderful life really is? It is the simple things that really make it worth every step. There was a handful of little wonders that sometimes we can take for granted.

The weekend started out on Friday. We had an awesome BBQ with some friends of ours. They were some friends who were in our single student ward up here at BYU-I.

To give you a background of all of them. Katie was my roommate and she married Jason in April. They were both in ward council with Glenn and I. Bradee was my roommate and she is dating Joe. Joe was in ward council with Glenn and I. Jessie was my downstairs neighbor, but she was sisters with my roommate Kerri. Mckenna was my roommate and Ryan is her brother. Libby was my roommate and she is dating Bryce. It was super fun to see and catch up with them all.

Saturday morning Glenn and I had our weekly date! We made breakfast together and ate it in bed. We got these awesome trays as a wedding gift.

And finally, the last simple wonder of the weekend was Saturday evening when I shaved my legs. Yes it was a wonder and let me tell you why. One thing people don't realize is the dead skin on their legs or arms, etc. What I am about to tell you will give you whole new legs. Not to mention, your legs stay looking good and smooth for days afterwards.

I was told once by someone to shave your legs upwards. In other words, against the hair. That is one way of keeping them nice and smooth. I usually will shave down first and then upwards. This give a nice close shave. However, that does not get rid of that layer of dead skin you probably don't realize is there.

Before you shave your legs mix together 1/2 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Set this aside. First you want to shave your legs. I recommend shaving upwards or doing it both. After your legs are shaved and wet, rub the sugar and olive oil mixture over your legs. Let it sit for a minute or so. Rinse your legs with cold water. Cold water helps open your pores and tighten your skin. After this I did a quick shave again. Dry your legs off and rub lotion on your legs. You will see and feel the difference from all the other times you have shaved your legs. The sugar and olive oil mixture help take off the dead skin layer.

Give it a try. You will feel great. Even Glenn noticed a huge difference. Ha ha.
