The last couple weeks have been extremely busy and crazy. Glenn and I moved into our new apartment last week. Before we jump a head of ourselves, I will give ya peak into the last couple weeks.
Glenn and I have been looking forward to August 23rd all summer long. We had tickets for Beauty and the Beast at the Play Mill Theater in West Yellowstone. Our original plan was to spend the night camping in West Yellowstone and then in the evening go to the show. We changed those plans because of weather, but we decided we would go up early Saturday to spend the day at the park and then end it at the show.
Both plans backfired. Luckily we still got to see the show that we bought tickets for.
The Thursday before the show, we received an email from someone wanting us to answer some questions in regards to being a manager at one of the student apartments here. We filled those questions out and waited for a response. Saturday morning we headed to West Yellowstone. We were not far out of Rexburg when we decided to turn back around because of how bad it was raining. We planed to go to the show later during the day rather than spend an entire day in West Yellowstone.
At this moment our car died. We had to push our car to the side of the road in the pouring rain. We called Glenn's boss to see if he could tow us with his truck to the nearest mechanic. Luckily he came and then gave us a ride home. We left our car at the mechanic because they were not open, but had plans to call them first thing Monday morning.
Our really good friends Josh and Aubrey let us borrow there truck, so we could still go to the Play Mill Theater later that day.
Since we were going to spend the day at home now and leave later, we got a call from the person who contacted us about managing. We had a phone interview and found out we will be apartment managers for Allen Ridge Apartments. We were so excited.
We went to see Beauty and the Beast at the Play Mill Theater in West Yellowstone and had a blast. It brought back memories for Glenn and I because our first week of dating we decided the song 'Something There' described our relationship. Before going to the show, we grabbed a bite to eat. During the show, though, the intermission they had a fun refreshment time. All the characters came out and stayed in character while serving caramel sundaes, fudge, cookies, popcorn, root beer floats, drinks, etc. We enjoyed a root beer float.
The next morning we found out that Saturday night Glenn's Grandma had passed away. So, this only adds to how the rest of our week plays out. We also found out Sunday that we can move into our new apartment the next day. So, starting Tuesday we already planned to buy a new car because we have been wanting to do this for a while and sell the old car. We start moving in Tuesday and finished moving in Wednesday. On Wednesday, we also bought a new car and our other car is at the mechanics being fixed (not too expensive of a repair). Glenn's boss told him that he will buy our old car from us. Woohoo.
Thursday, I spend the day cleaning our old apartment and unpacking at our new apartment. Friday, we hand off our keys for our old apartment and continue organizing our new apartment. Saturday, we leave for Utah for Glenn's Grandma's funeral. Finally, we come back Sunday night. As for this week, we have been jumping right into our manager responsibilities. Getting things ready for the upcoming semester (I will talk more about this another time).
The following are pictures of us in Utah:
