Sorry, no pictures on the blog today. I forgot my camera when we went to Texas, and I used my phone to take pictures, but it takes me forever to even get around to taking pictures off my phone.
Thanksgiving break was fun and much needed for Glenn and I. Not to mention, it was nice to get to spend the break in 60 degree weather. We headed down to Utah on Tuesday and spent the night at my Aunt Charlyn's house. It was fun seeing some cousins and their spouses that evening that I have not seen for awhile. We got up super early Wednesday morning to make our way down to El Paso. The weather was perfect all the way down.
The next day was Thanksgiving. It was fun to spend time with family (Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Janet, Uncle Don, Kristen [cousin], Creighton ]Kristen's husband] + their two kids, My mom and dad, Eric [brother], Kiersten [sister-in-law] + their two--Abby and Rua, Kimberly [sister] + her two--Lydia and Hannah, and Neil (brother).
We of course had all the yummy Thanksgiving food and filled up our tummies. We were reminded by my Uncle Don before we sat down to eat that before Jesus performed the miracle of the fish and bread to feed the multitude, he first thanked our Heavenly Father. What a wonderful reminder. We are taught even when we pray to offer thanks to Heavenly Father before we ask for anything in return.
Later that evening my dad, sister, and I went out to JC Pennies and Kohls for some early Black Friday shopping. I got two $10 off $10 coupons at JC Pennies and used one of them for Glenn's Christmas present. The funny part was the next day. . . Glenn and I went out with my brother and sister-in-law to JC Pennies and Kohls again. Glenn used the second coupon I had to get me a gift. It was funny to hear Glenn tell everybody that he was so proud of himself that this was his first Black Friday outing, and he bought something on Black Friday too. The best part was our gifts together would have cost about $60; however, we came out only spending $7 for our gifts for each other combined. Wahoo.
The rest of the trip was so fun. Friday we spent some more time at the house. Saturday we went bowling as a family and after dinner, Glenn and I got in the car and started our journey back to Idaho. It was a long drive, and we pulled over a couple of times to sleep for an hour or so. We finally made it back to Rexburg on Sunday around 4:00 p.m.
It was a great little get away. I loved seeing my family!
