Our Summer Vacation!

Johnathan's first big trip was a success. He did great and was pleasant majority of the time. He grew a bit more accustomed to his car seat but still does not find pleasure in it.

Glenn and I wanted to take some trip during our 7 week break. We could not go too far because Glenn needs to work, but we made it out to Washington state for a few days to visit my Grandma on my mom's side. It was super fun going up there. I had not been up there since 2009 (before my Grandpa passed away).
We started our adventure toward Montana. It was a nice little stop to break up our trip. Plus Johnathan got to spend some time with his Ma and Pa Mackay.
We then woke up super early the next day to get on the road toward Washington. We made great time, and Johnathan was so excited to end the long drive with a bath (one of his favorite activities). As you can see. . . he was ready to be out of the car.

We had a nice little evening. We took a walk to through the park to the cemetery. I had never seen my grandpa's grave before. It was a beautiful walk and evening.

Johnathan really enjoys being outside. So getting a bath and a walk was a treat for him since he spent the entire day in the car.

The next day we ventured into Seattle to visit Pike's Place. We got a Texas size doughnut from the bakery and every time I have gone we always had to get a picture with the pig.

We enjoyed them throwing fist. Johnathan loved smiling at his great grandma. And, what would a trip to Washington be if we did not stop by DQ. Johnathan did not have any (of course), but we are sure he enjoyed a cup or two with his great grandpa before joining us here on earth.

We were going to drive up to the ocean (about 3 hr drive). But, weather was unpredictable so we stayed close by. We wen to a couple state parks and collected some really fun shells. My uncle Mark and his grandson joined us too.

It was a fun day indeed. We ended it by driving into Seattle to visit one of my old mission companions. It was so fun to see her. We had not seen each other since we were companions in 2011. Reunions are the best. . . here is a picture of us on the mission and us now. She is expecting her second child. It is so fun to see how far we have come since the mission.

Sunday we spent the day at the house. We had church in the afternoon and just relaxed majority of the day. One of Johnathan's favorite things to do is to stand. In fact, he is trying to move his legs in a walking motion. Not yet buddy. He also gets upset if he is not standing sometimes too.

Monday we headed out after breakfast. We drove to Glenn's brother's house in Kenniwick (not sure on spelling), WA. It was a nice stop to break up our trip driving back. Johnathan enjoyed his time out of the car seat.
We are glad to be home now. It was a fun little trip out of Rexburg!
