Dear Johnathan,
This month you started crawling all over the place. Nothing
seems to be off limits to you. I call your crawl the limp. You have one leg straight
and use it as your power leg. The other leg just drags behind. Sometimes you
crawl normal, but your limp is the best way to get around. Some of your
favorite places to go is the tile, bookshelf, and kitchen. I do block the
kitchen when we are not in there, but you sure love it when I am doing
something in there because you can play in that room.
You are also starting to
try and pull yourself up on things. You will try and balance yourself on your
feet, but can’t seem to straighten out the body. You do, however, get on your
knees and sit up straight.
You love looking at books. Sometimes you will be playing,
but you want to come sit in my lap after a while and look at a book.
You love to go outside. The weather is starting to get nicer
(snow melting, etc.). It will be fun to do more adventures things once it warms
up even more.
Your smile is contagious. You are happy all the time. I
think it is because we finally have you somewhat figured out. I don’t plan that
to last long. It seems once we start to get something down . . . something
changes. You still sleep from 7:30 p.m. to about 7/7:30 a.m. every day. That is
so nice.
You love food! You eat everything we give you. We typically
just give you what we are eating and let you feed yourself, but sometimes I
give you fruit baby foods. You love oatmeal. Sometime you cry if I am not fast
enough giving you the oatmeal (not baby oatmeal, regular oatmeal). At least I
know you are not constipated ever. The oatmeal seems to clean you out. I am not
a huge fan of the 4 to 5 dirty diapers you do practically every day.
And of course, bath time still remains your favorite pass
time. I can’t wait until we can take you to play in water during the summer. You
also love playing with daddy. Your face just lights up.
You are a super fun kid. I love how you love playing with us
and by yourself. I love how you (usually) have a smile on your face. I love
your straight face smile the most (when you don’t open your mouth). That one
gets me every time. I love how curious and loving you are. I also love how you
are a people person but still reach for me when mommy is all you want (more pictures in the side albums).
Love,
Mom
