I have never been so thrilled for a week to be over. This last week was a nightmare, and I don't want a repeat. Last Monday Johnathan went to bed feeling a bit sick. He woke up in the middle of the night with a fever. The fever lasted all day Tuesday. He did not cry or make a peep. All he wanted to do was cuddle and nap. Wednesday was the same; however, his temperature was much higher. We took him to the pediatrician and got an antibiotic for him to take. Then Thursday and Friday Johnathan was completely opposite. His temperature dropped, but now he was non stop fussy and would not nap. These two days were awful for me. Glenn left out of town and would not be back until Friday after Johnathan's bed time. Saturday and Sunday were kind of the same. He was a bit better yesterday, but not completely back to his normal happy self.
Today so far has been great. . . let's up it continues.
Despite a miserable week, we did have some high lights to it. I am not the biggest fan of Valentines day. Too much pink, over priced junk, and sappy love notes. Not my thing. Though, I love baking and do things for others. . . so that is the perk I don't mind joining in on. During a happy and not fussy and complaining part of one of our days, I made a heart shape imprint of Johnathan's feet. I decided to paint it to add some more color to it. I used a heart cookie cutter for the shape. (DIY Tutorial Here)
Our V-Day started out with some yummy baked chocolate chip banana donuts. (See Recipe Here)
We then went to a multi Stake Conference and had the special treat of seeing and listening to Elder Rasband. Being in the presence of an apostle of the Lord was a great V-Day treat! He reminded us that the most important day of our life is the day we were sealed to our spouse. It is the day that we sealed forever our eternal family.
We normally have church at 1:30 in the afternoon. Since it was Stake Conference, we were done with church by noon. It was so nice to come home and have the rest of the day. We got Johnathan to nap and made our lunch/dinner. We had homemade schnitzel, potatoes, and coleslaw. . . we some juice! Yummy.
Since Johnathan was doing a lot better yesterday morning, we decided to go get breakfast at the Farmer's bakery (some friends who use to live in our ward owns it). I had their stuffed French Toast and Glenn had biscuits and gravy. Johnathan sure loved daddy's food!
Now, let's hope for a better week.
