Katie was an old roommate of mine at college and was my roommate when I started dating Glenn. Her husband, Jason, was also in the picture as Katie started dating Jason during our roommate time together. They have a little boy who is a couple months younger than Johnathan, and she is also expecting a little girl and is due a few weeks after me!
This weekend was filled with a couple first for our little busy 2 year old.

Glenn woke up around 5 and him and Jason went fishing from the jetty on one of the beaches. This was a whole knew experience for Glenn because he is used to one kind of fishing (fly fishing). Now Glenn is wanting a new fishing pole that will be better suited for fishing in the ocean. He did not really catch anything because fly fishing is not meant for the ocean. It is too windy and when a wave comes, you need to jump just so your waders do not fill up with water.
I woke up around 7 and started getting ready and making sure we would not leave anything in the hotel. Johnathan woke up around 7:30. We ate breakfast, checked out of the hotel, and loaded up the car. Katie and her little boy came with Johnathan and I to the Texas State Aquarium. It was fun to visit and see the little boys enjoying seeing fish, sharks, touching hermit crabs, and seeing a dolphin show. If you are in the area, you will need to check it out.
Around 11:30, we met up with Glenn and Jason and had some lunch together. Then we headed over to the beach.
2)First Beach and Ocean Visit. Johnathan did not hesitate at all when he saw the ocean for the first time. He was ready to play. He enjoyed being in the water and any though waves came and splashed him the face, he was having a good time. I think it also benefits being on the Gulf of Mexico because the water is nice and warm when we get in. Johnathan and his buddy (Katie's boy) had a fun time digging in the sand, splashing in the water, and just having someone to play with.
After a few fun hours at the beach, we went and had dinner together and headed off in our separate ways. Back to San Antonio for us and back to Houston for them.
It was a fun little get away for a weekend and seeing some friends.
Sunday was Glenn's birthday, and we celebrated with cheesecake and bluebell ice cream. I don't know if he is feeling 26 yet, but he is feeling very much sunburned. In a couple months I turn 28 and am having a hard time believing I will be 30 in just a little over 2 years. Cheers to getting older. . . the adventures will just keep on coming!!
