It's that time of year when every one is setting goals and wanting a fresh new start. From what I see, there are three very common goals that get set at the beginning of every year:
1) Get Fit
2) Get Organized
3) New Style
Recently, we made a trip to Sam's Club and you can tell that companies target these goals in their stores. You have excercise equipment, exercise clothes, healthy foods right up front. In fact, all Sam's Club was sampling was healthy food. You also have plenty of things to get you organized out on the floor. Then you have furniture, decor, etc. right up front to give your place a new look and style for the new year. It is a new year, and I am all about goals. Though, if you have not started one of these goals by the middle of the year, don't let that stop you from making them.
So let's focus on getting organized. A while back I told my husband, I did not know if I have a hobby any more. After all, I feel like I have not time for one sometimes. He looked at me and told me that organizing his my hobby. Ha Ha. I don't view it as a hobby. It is something I enjoy and am continuously doing. I decided that is one topic, along with some others, I would try and cover on my blog this year. So let's get started. I believe starting small. Don't make a huge project from the start. You will get discouraged and nothing will be accomplished. So pick one area and focus on it until it is how you would like it. Then pick the next thing and so on. Don't say you need the kitchen organized and tackle the whole kitchen. Say, "I need the fridge organized." Organize it--then move on from there.
So here is my organizing project of the new year: The Fridge.
This is one area that tends to get things thrown in there. Eventually, not everything is visible and things tend to go bad because they get forgotten.
1) Have a vision of what you want.
2) Decide what each area of the fridge will be for. (label each area if that makes things easier). I will be sharing some of my favorite labels on another post.
3) Make/Purchase what you need to make your vision happen.
4) Get organizing.
I bought this handy thing this weekend at Sam's Club. I love it. But, you can also buy individual organizers for the fridge at places like Walmart, Amazon, etc. You can also hit up the Dollar Tree (one of the best places for getting organized).
Now for the finish look of the inside of my fridge. I did not take a before picture, but it was a mess with it being the holidays and all. Now to keep it organized ;-)
